Spend a Cozy and Creative January at Cedar Key Arts Center

ANNOUNCEMENT

January at the Cedar Key Arts Center includes ongoing classes and salons, as well as several one day workshops and a gallery opening.

January`s Gallery will be filled with cozy quilts. This exhibit is open to the community and ready to hang quilts are due at the Art Center by Jan. 3 at 5 pm. Photographer Christian Harkness will be featured in the Members Gallery. Gallery Reception is Jan. 7, from 5-7 p.m.

Salons are held the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays from 3-5 p.m. to demonstrate and discuss different aspects of art to gain a better understanding of various media. Jan. 1-Holiday, Jan. 15-Composition, Jan. 29-Perspective with Ann Kamzelski.

CKAC members and non-members can register for all workshops and classes at the Cedar Keyhole or by contacting the instructor. Additional information is available at www.cedarkeyartscenter.org.

Workshops in January at the Art Center are:
Jan. 13- Wood shade burning with Carolyn Marek or Wood relief carving with Bob Marek from 10- 5, Contact Donna Bushnell at 352-493-1807.
Jan. 16-Color Wheel Mixing with Sandra Allen from 10-3, Call 352-543-6208.
Jan. 18-Fabric Dyeing with Virginia Stevenson, from 10-3. Call 352-465-7809.
Jan 30 costume jewelry workshop has been rescheduled to March 12.

Ongoing classes/activities beginning in January at the CKAC include:
Jan. 5 and weekly-Art Education classes for middle and high school students, 3 pm. Contact Zandy Zettler at 352-543-9920.
Jan. 4 and weekly from 9-12-Boat Builders with Earl Starnes, 352-543-6715.
Jan. 4, and weekly-photography processing and darkroom techniques with Chris Harkness at 10 a.m.
Jan. 10 and bi-weekly-Using Photoshop Elements to improve and process your photos with Ann Kamzelski at 7 p.m. Contact her at 352-543-5568.
Jan. 12 and bi-weekly-Painting 101 with Sandra K. Allen at 10 am, call 543-6208.
Jan. 12-Feb. 16 evenings weekly-Art Group Therapy with Alexandria Zettler. Closed sessions contact her at 352-543-9920.
Jan. 20 and every third Friday-Still Life Open Studio with Sandi Allen, open just come with your current art project, any medium.
