Spate of Cedar Key Burglaries

Spate of Cedar Key Burglaries

In the past month several burglaries have been reported to the Cedar Key Police Department. Three of the cases have been investigated by the Levy County Sheriff`s Office because the were in the unincorporated area of the island. Three of six cases involved loss of property, all involved illegal entry. The most serious case has a reported loss of $600 in cash and jewelry.

Police Chief Dan Swogger told Cedar Key News that he has no comment on the rumor that the police have a suspect. However, he recommended that people lock their doors and windows. Furthermore, he said that suspicious activities should be reported to the police.
