Police Beat/ August 4 | Police Beat/ August 4Jim Hoy Following a traffic stop at 2:20 AM July 29 for crossing the yellow lines, Cedar Key Police records indicate that David Norman Peppler, 23, of Cedar Key said that he had about four beers and two mixed drinks. Peppler failed roadside sobriety tests and was taken to the Levy County Jail where he failed breath alcohol analyses and was charged with driving under the influence. He was also cited for failure to drive in a single lane, driving with an expired license and defective equipment. While on a physical disturbance call the evening of August 2 Cedar Key Police records show that James Archie Clark, 50, of Trenton, was arrested for driving under the influence. According to the police report, Clark is alleged to have said that he had had five to eight beers. He failed roadside sobriety tests and was taken to the Levy County Jail where he refused to take a breath alcohol test. |
