A Loan TO the Library

A painting of a local Cedar Key scene was given as a loan to the Cedar Key Public Library May 9. The painting depicts a commercial fish house that was at one time owned by the Davis family. It was purchased at the 2006 Celebration of the Arts show by Cedar Key News, and will be on display at the library along with many other pieces of art. Virginia Chen, a Gainesville artist, created the watercolor painting. It is just one of many paintings that she has done has along our waterfront.

Jolie Davis, a founding member of the Cedar Key News Board of Directors, presented the painting to Bonnie Tollefson, Director of the Levy County Library System. Mrs. Davis is a member of the Davis family that owned the fishhouse.
